Flourish Early Years: our Year One Impact Report is published
We have published the Year One Impact Report for Flourish, our free early years programme on the Meadow Well estate, made possible by an award from the Masonic Charitable Foundation.
In its first year Flourish reached 216 children aged 0 to 5, who came 3,352 times across 229 sessions, in a space that is open to all with no cost, no referral and no waiting list. The report sets that achievement against the national evidence on what gives children the strongest start, and it breaks the numbers down by age, gender and deprivation so the reach can be read plainly.
Families told us their children grew most in social and emotional development, then in communication and thinking, then in physical confidence, and every measure improved. They also told us where an open playroom reaches its limit. Parents’ confidence held, yet feeling less isolated slipped, and that is the finding we take most seriously. It is why our next chapter, the Early Years Resilience Hub, puts parental mental health and connection at its heart.
We have written this report honestly, firm where the evidence is firm and open about what a first year cannot yet show. With the right partners we mean to keep building, and to share openly what we learn.
